Who needs a license?
Any person or business entity who transacts real estate business for compensation as an agent for another person must first
obtain a real estate license issued by the North Carolina Real Estate Commission (NCREC).
What are the license qualification requirements?
- To qualify for a real estate broker license, an applicant must meet all the following criteria.
- Be at least 18 years of age
- Be a US citizen, a non-citizen national or a qualified alien under federal law
- Have a social security number
- Pass the real estate license examination
- Satisfy the Commission that they possess the requisite character to be entitled to licensure
How do I get my license?
If you are intersted in getting your NC real estate license, you will begin with a 80-Hour Broker Pre-Licensing Course.
You must successfully complete this course and pass the state exam in order to get your NC real estate license.
